Gagnon Double Bass
Jacques Gagnon bass from 2007, maybe his last one. Everything is great about this 7/8 size bass, easy to play and big deep sound for orchestra/jazz. D neck, 20.75" upper bout, 28" lower bout, 9.25" depth. Back is slightly shaped, not quite flat.
Located in the Boston area.
Sure I'm forgetting something so just ask.

That's beautiful. What is the top made out of?

Not sure, sides and back are poplar. I guess it's slab cut spruce?

What is that black thing ontop of the scroll and pegbox

It's a C extension, most professional orchestra basses have them.

Wow good luck! Really dig the shoulders and violin corners on this one. The varnish and grain looks really great, too. If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling?

Argh all the way in Boston

I have another smaller bass which I'm using to play more chamber music, I'm doing very little orchestra work anymore. This is a pretty big bass and it's better suited for large ensemble or jazz work in my opinion.

Did you get this from Volker? I am waiting for him to finish this other bass but if anything happens I'm coming to check this out. I love the other Gagnon's I have played

I got it from Gagnon, I think it was his last one.
