KC Strings Bass - Richard Williams Series

Hello,

Thought I'd give this sale thread one more run.

I'm selling my KC Strings Bass. It is a Richard Williams series bass. I just don't play it anymore. Here is the information about the Richard Williams Series basses from KC Strings' website:

The Richard Williams instruments are made with a higher level of craftsmanship from European tonewoods. The instruments are tonally graduated and treated with our proprietary sealer and oil varnish. The acoustic effects of the wood and finish treatment allow these instruments to vibrate more freely for increased tonal maturity that is required by accomplished players.

These instruments are partially crafted at our affiliated private shop in Romania from seasoned European wood. They are then shipped to our shop rough and unfinished. Once these instruments are at K.C. Strings, our professional craftsmen do the finish work on them which is more extensive than on the R.C. Williams line. The more complex sealer and varnish allow the instruments to be extremely resonant and beautiful. They are given a professional set-up by the craftsmen in our shop. These instruments work very well with intermediate and advanced students.

I bought this bass about 6 years ago. I had it appraised back then for $9500 dollars. The reason they appraised it higher than all their other Richard Williams basses is because....well....it sounded that much better. This bass sounds amazing. Easily can compete with instruments in the $12-15 grand price range. And it sounds even better now that it has been played thoroughly over the years. This bass is in amazing condition. No cracks, scrapes, or chips. Only the usually side wear from laying it down, and even that is minimal. When I bought it I also had Anton (the head luthier) make me an entirely new finger board. Not a replaning or something of the sort, but a completely new fingerboard. It goes all the way up to a high E. The action is low, and the shoulders allow nice clearance for upper register playing.

I'm selling it with a Reunion Blues 7/8ths bag. These bags are top of the line. They retail for over $500. The only thing that would protect it more would be a flight case.

To sum up: You are looking at a Richard Williams Bass (an exceptionally good sounding one at that). This comes with a completely handmade finger board by Anton. And it is protected by the top of the line Reunion Blues Bag. This really is one of the best basses I've ever played in this price rance. Please contact me for further info, or if you would like to try it out. I currently have it sitting at KC Strings, but if you were seriously interested in buying it I could take it from there and get it to you. My number is (913) 244-4310. SERIOUS BUYER INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE. I'm asking $8500 for the whole thing. This could be slightly negotiable. I'm located in Kansas City.

I also have a video clip of me playing some pizz style stuff. Unfortunately I don't have any recordings of the arco sound. It is a beautiful sound. Excuse my rough playing and the single stereo mic recording. But it is something. Also, just FYI, the bass is strung with thin/flexible solo strings in standard tuning with low action in this clip.

Thanks,

Zach Rizer
