The
VB-004 features a crack-resistant spruce top with a gracefully designed arched maple back. The neck is hand carved from solid maple. The fingerboard and tailpiece are made from ebonized woods, and the bass comes with German-quality, Tyrolean tuners, with a 24:1 gear ratio. Includes a French-style horsehair bow, nylon bag and a Meisel double bass Stand. I replaced the original end pin with a more substantial one from Gollihur Music which is very snug and never slips. The bass is in good to fair condition after 10 years of gigging - see pictures. The neck is beginning to move a bit and will probably need work from the luthier of your choice sometime in the next four or five years. I'm getting another bass immediately so I'm motivated to sell this one at an attractive price.
NOTE: the picture shows the bass equipped with the K&K Sound Double Big Twin upright bass pickup and the Fishman B-II Bass Instrument Preamplifier. This is the rig as I play it and I didn't remove the pickup and preamp for the pictures. If you are interested in the pickup and preamp I'll throw them in on the deal for and additional $125.00.
