It's been discussed here: French/German "hybrid" bow pics?
and here French/German Bow Differences?
It's a really great bow BUT... I'd recommend this for someone who is primarily a French player switching to German from time to time.
I was using it as my primary German bow for some opera work but the French button/screw gets a little uncomfortable after a lot of playing time.
I love the concept and have asked a local bow maker to copy it with a more German button etc
$1050 or best offer (will also consider comparable trade for German bow)
Thanks,

If my finances weren't drained from a travel bass I would jump on this thing. |

I think there's a Youtube master class with Theiry Barbe somewhere using this kind of bow. For me, as a German player with sort of bad hands now, it's really great when you have pages of whole note/half not stuff to shift over-hand, take a little pressure off, and then switch back.
Needless to say players like Barbe and Paul Ellison use this kind of bow for much more subtle reasons!

We sort of decided we'd do that if the bow didn't sell, but I guess I personally didn't want to alter Mike's work (I know him well and he has made bows for me in the past). But the answer is yes.

However, his bows are often comparable to Hudsons and such. I love that a fellow Canadian breaks the mold of needing to go to school, and that he can offer what I think are world-class bows, at a very affordable price.
Anyone that picks up this bow will not be at a loss, I am certain.

| | | | For a cheap solution to the button issue, perhaps wrapping it with surgical tubbing, just like the index guard for french bow. |
