How about a trial?

Provbass1 03-18-2013 06:49 PM

And who is/was Claude Marchand?

I don't know if there is a real person with that name or not. These bows are from the Thomas and George Martin bass company in England, who contracts out to "a leading bowmaker" to make them under the Claude Marchand name. They sell for $1800 from Martin.

Yes, audition is fine. Since I don't have the ability to take a credit card number to secure the bow when it's on audition, what I've done in the past (both when buying and selling bows) is ask for payment up front for the bow with Paypal, and if you don't want it after a week trial, return it and I refund the full amount through Paypal. You are responsible for return shipping.

I agree. Very articulate and great balance.

I will second that. I played a number of Marchards at the '11 ISB convention in San Francisco, and felt that they were very near to, if not on par with, my Reid Hudson, and at less than half the price!

I'm interested-
Where are you located?

Provbass1 04-01-2013 06:36 PM

Never mind-- I see where you are-- I'd like a trial, but not til the middle of the month-- I could send you a check and save you PayPal fee- not in a hurry ,either way.

Russell Bergum 05-17-2013 09:26 PM

Bow is still available.
