Hi Tb'rs,
I am selling an early 20th century 3/4 doublebass with Kolstein Bag. This bass sounds great in a jazz setting as well as a classical solo bass setting as well. It could be played in a bass section, but because of its size...you be the judge. Varnish is dark and there was a complete restoration done on the inside of the bass by J.J. Hanson in Lawrence, KS at Beautiful Music. This guy replaced ALL the bracing, re-did ALL the cleats and gave it a "clean bill of health". I have been using the bass exclusively on jazz gigs and while studying with Lynn Seaton at the University of North Texas for the past two years.
Here are the specs:
Upper Bout width= 19.5"
C bout= 13 3/4"
Lower Bout= 23.5"
String Length 41"
Width at LB up to UB with gradual taper= 7"

This bass has a nice round mellow tone. I have owned the instrument since 2006. The bass is located in Lake Tahoe, California. I am open to trades of a doublebass of similar value. Electric Basses and amps of professional giging quality are also acceptable. Trades plus cash are fine. I am in the market for another Doublebass to be used in a Jazz setting. I am willing to drive and meet a prospective deal as West as San Franscisco. I will be in Los Angeles the weekend of Feb. 22,23 and 24. Let's say approx. a 100 mile radius of travel other than the aforementioned distances. I will attempt to post pics now. Please call if interested: 913-754-6620 or personal email is
