Circumstances are such that DB is not going to be part of my playing for a LONG time. So, I am offering my Shen for sale.
The bass is an SB-180 featuring a beautiful carved top and ribs and round back of nicely figured laminates. (it is the bass in my avatar)
I purchased the bass new from luthier Nick Lloyd about 10 years ago. It is setup very well. There have been a few "tweaks" including a nicely figured claro walnut compensated tailpiece made by Mike Pecanic, and the bass has been fitted with a KC Strings endpin. If you have ever struggled with a bad endpin, you'll appreciate this. The KC Strings endpin is one of the best designed and functioning traditional type endpins on the market.
The bass has been played and has all the wear you might expect from 10 years. However, it remains super solid and dependable and sounds GREAT. I would take it (and have many times) into any situation from a BG festival to an orchestra pit gig with absolute confidence.
The bass is strung with a new set of Evas. (less than 10 hours use). It is fitted with a Full Circle pickup that will be included. Further, the bass includes a Messina bag which is VERY WELL made. It is a very well padded bag in very good condition. Far superior to any common bag.

I would also consider full or partial trades for electric bass guitars.
