Gut Strings for Sale

I recently purchased a new bass that came with a new set of Carlos Henriquez Pirastro Chordas. The A string began to unwind so I decided to replace them with a set of spirocores. The rest of the set is in great condition(E,D,G) and they have a solid, deep sound! The original set was purchased for over $400 and were special ordered from Germany. They're not available in the US. I'm looking for $300 or $100 per string.

sorry for OT (i'm actually interested as well): can't you get the A replaced/repaired by Pirastro?

Hmm..I'm not sure about that. I don't know how the previous owner actually got them through Germany, but I imagine that process could be difficult.

What do you mean they're not available in the US?

I had that same problem, and spoke to Dan from Gamut String about having the A rewound for $50. I ended up buying a replacement A for a little less.

Anyhow, great strings. Best of luck with your sale.

Pirastro is pretty good with replacing strings if you bought them recently. After a month or two, I had an A come undone with their Eudoxas and they sent me a replacement right away. Great customer service, which is nice considering how much they cost!
