strings, strings, strings

Getting to the bottom of my string drawer. For Sale :

Thomastic Dominants Complete Set -- bought used, the wrap is just a little unwound at the very tip of the A string, otherwise they're in fine shape and sound good: $80 $70 now $60 $50 Great old-school pizz sound, and bow-friendly too. SOLD

D'Addario Helicore Pizzicato, E, A, and G only, no D --bought new, used a little less than a year, silks and wrappings at tuner ends have some unraveling, but the strings still don't buzz or anything: $30 $25 $20 plus shipping gets you all three,

Obligato Solos -- B (A) and E (D), very good condition: $15 each or $20 for the pair.

Coming soon: beat-up two sets of Corellis and set of Obligatos, all cut for EUB. You can have the whole bunch for $20 if you come pick them up from my NYC apartment or meet me somewhere in the city. The Obligatos sounded really great on my NS Wav 4, they compensated for the bass's brightness, but I hated trying to fit the ends into the tuning pegs, which is why I got the above Solos.

About how long have the dominants been on your bass since you got them?

Sorry for the late response. The Dominants were on my bass for just over a month, if I recall. I was using the G, D, and A with a D'Addario E, then I acquired the Dominant E and had them all on for about a week before I got tired of them and switched to Velvets for good. I bought them all used though and don't know how much they were played before I got them.

Bump for addition of cheap, beat-up, cut-up old strings for Electric Upright.

If you still have the Obligatos, I'd like to try them if you are will ing to mail (SC). I'd like to put a set on my wife's NXT. Thinking I'll need to upgrade the tuners from stock to handle it? Thanks, Geechee

People say you can make Obligatos work with the stock tuners and long-nose pliers, but my success wasn't great. I couldn't get the E string in the hole and had to settle for leaving it in the slot. Unravelling is a concern once the string is cut. My patience level is too low and my anxiety level too high.

Having said that, I'm sorry, but I don't feel like shipping at the moment. The money I'd pocket isn't worth the trouble. I'd rather keep them in my drawer. Thanks.
