| Well I already went and bought it for $1550, but its weird they hadpriced on the tag as being $1995 msrp $2450. And they said theyd go down to $1550. It is brand new and under warranty, however its new old stock. My question is, did I pay too much? did I get ripped off to some extent? How does that work? should they as a business sell the bass in coordinance for what they bought it for in 2008? or do do they sell it at the inflated fender price? The current American vintage deluxe sells for roughly $1650 but then again the new ones have some added features, like the block inlay, bound neck , the passive, actice switch. I only have two days to return it if they did me wrong.... Although the bass is "great" and feels so comfortable...
One more question, Im primarily a guitarist in an acoustic band. I bought a base to mainly use in the studio for mostly acoustoc stuff , some electric. I Love the sound of our bassist upright bass, and though I know to get that sound Id need an actual standup.I really prefer to get the closest to that sound using an electric bass. I will put some flat wound strings on to whatever I end up with. I have never played a hofner, the cheap knock offs and very much like them, aside from how cheap they are made. But I have a feeling about hofners, and there is a vintage hofner for sale 2 hrs from me. So I know they are apples and oranges , but for my needs how does this Fender deluxe bass compare to a vintage hofner? I know you all have expertise in this bass area, and can probably answer my question extremely easily. Im looking for precise, sturdy build, and something that will just last a long time and versitile.... Thanks so much.
Now dare I ask opinions which of the following would be a good match for tone of hese two basses depending on witch ever bass you thing I should stay with. Ampeg micro stack, or new roland cube 60, line 6 low down, fender bassman tv 10, or even a fender rumble...
Thanks you so much everybody |
