Question 4 vs 5 vs 6

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

I'm looking to buy a new bass, but dont know whether to go for a 4, 5 or 6 string. The bass I have at the moment is a cheap 4 string, and i'm looking to buy something better and cooler...

Which do you think is best, 4, 5 or 6???

Anyone reccomend any good basses in the £300-400 range

Ta

I started out with a 4 string and just recently bought a spector 5 string. I must say that the 5 string was a little weird at first but the more I play it the more I am liking it. If you play with guitarists that drop tune then you might want to go 5 or 6.

well, if you REALLY like the higher end of the bass, and
can handle the added width, 6 might be the way to go.

Personally I play a 5 as I like the lower end of the spectrum,
as well as the way that that chords stack up nicely. lets
me play in the 2nd position area while still having the low note
1st positionnotes.
