Advice on choosing my first bass

Hi, I Looking to buy my First Bass. I've came down to 2 choices Musician Musican StingRay or an American Fender Jazz with a S1 switch. This will be my first bass. I really want a bass with a fat sound since I will soon recording some tracks with some dub sounding bass lines.
