Advice needed, returning to bass after decades

Just picked up an Epiphone EB-3.
Had used an Epiphone Ravoli EB-2 for years and used black flatwound strings. Deep tone but a muted, sort sustained note.
What flatwound strings would you recommend for an EB-3 ?

I am using Labella FL's on my P-Bass and like them a lot. D'Addorio Chromes are popular here - but I think TI Jazz Flats get the most love. If your Bass is short scale they make a short scale set too - but they are pricey. Best deal I have seen on Flats are the Carvin Branded Labella's on Carvin's Website- but there are quite a few choices. GHS has a nice priced set as does SIT Strings. Then there are Fenders and Rotos too!

By the way - Welcome Back. I returned to playing after nearly 20 years away last year!

Thanks, another opinion please

Who makes the T1 Jazz?
I liked the black flat wounds but no sustain.
I liked the speed I could get on a Gibson or Guild w/ flat wounds.
Found the larger scale of the Fender w/ round wounds had my fore arm screaming and fingertips raw after 40 minutes of rock riffs.
Built my own Fender as I thought the Jazz Bass maple was the least of the evils in Fender necks but liked the Telecaster sound but thought the T bass had a neck like a 2x4 so I combined the 2 in an old Jap bass body and hardware.
Didn't like the Jazz bass sound with the 2 skinny pickups mounted by the bridge.
So what would you use on a full scale EB-3 which has a higher voltage output than a Fender?.......for the money.
Looking for boom, sustain and fingertips not worn to the bone and eliminating that buzz you get when you slide down the neck.

My daughter recently picked up the bass. I guess after seeing me play she became interested.

While her first love is the guitar, she's loving her EB-0. I just put some flats on it because she wanted some that were like mine. I use D'Addario Chromes. I've tried several different flats and also coated rounds.

I always keep going back to the Chromes, though.
