I say that because I've been here a while, but never have properly introduced myself. So, I apologize for my tardiness.
Anyway, I have been playing bass off and on for roughly 24 years and it is still my favorite pastime. I work primarily in church music, but also play bass for a classic rock cover outfit from time to time.
As of now, I am working on getting some writing done and experimenting with the idea of doing looping/solo bass work. We'll see how that works out.
My interests in music include most genres; jazz, blues, rock, classical, and contemporary christian. My influences, oddly enough, are Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler, and I think Tommy Shannon is one of the best around.
I have four basses listed from oldest to youngest; Peavey T-40, Samick Artist 5, Spector Legend (mods), and a Squier/SX P-bass mutt.
Talkbass is a great site with tons of good info and I'm very happy to be here.
