Hi

My name is Dino and I've lived on Maui since 1990. I played tuba in high school (late 70's) and that was the foundation for my bass playing. In 1992 I started playing bass seriously on a borrowed FenderP-Bass, and soon after built my own 5 string fretless.

I play with two bands here on Maui, Mojomana and Sonic Tonic. The 5 string fretless is my main bass and my Ibanez Artcore semi-hollow is my secondary bass for a bit of nostalgia on stage.

I do sound engineering/recording part time and a bit of studio work. I've run front of house sound for theaters and night clubs so I know my way around a board. I also do a bit of instrument repair in my workshop, odd jobs on guitars, basses, amps. I love the work and it's cool to help out fellow musicians.

Besides bass, I play drums and some brass. Trumpet was my first instrument and I have a vintage 1935 Holton I bought a year ago to keep me playin. I even have a trombone to have a little fun with now and then.

I showed up here to share what I know and to learn more. There is always something new to learn.

Happy Holidays!

Welcome to TB. Looks like you'll be able to actually contribute, unlike many of us.

Aloha Dino! Your bands ever come to Oahu? Let me know and I'll provide a few more ears in the audience, at least
