I just found talkbass doing research on my new (old) bass. I recently acquired a 1951 American Standard bass. It has a very messed up adjustable bridge and a 3 hole tailpiece that was modified to accommodate 4 strings. I am curious what the dimensions of the original tailpiece would have been. I am going to take it to luthier in the near future and think that having that info might be of use when we set it up. Any info or ideas would be appreciated
