AMPEG SVT3 problems + greetings from a new one

Sign in to disble this ad
hi everyone, i'm new here, so first i want to say hello to all of you.
Hope it's ok to "ask-questions-on-the-first-date", otherwise please remind me if i'm too nosy...

been having several problems with an ampeg SVT3, seemingly one of them is a "birth anomaly", which turned out to be a shorted primary of the power transformer (ocasional fuse burnout on turn-on), but it worked for sometime. when this burning out the fuse became regular on every turn-on, a partial solution was to disconnect one of the windings - the amp would then work with reduced power and it did so for some two more years, after which it went dead again and will blow the fuse every time - no exceptions. So, now i can get to asking questions:
- can anyone please tell me the voltages for the primary and secondary and the power rating of the transformer so i can order a custom wound xformer at my local electric company?
- I'll be most grateful if someone could help me get to a complete Ampeg SVT3 schematic, in digital or paper form, sinc this will probably feature all the data i'll need

Another problem i had but i solved: the rotating filter switch ceased to respond - it turned out to be a blown op-amp associated to that feature (TL074 i believe).

Thanks for any help you can give me, and please excuse me for this rather long introduction into my forum interaction.

... and lots of successful repairs to everyone.
