Another Converted Guitar Player

Have started doing music again after a thirty year layoff. I played rhythm guitar in country and top forty bands.

Not as many bands use rhythm guitars any more so I hope I will have more opportunities to play if I have a bass.

I had a China J Bass and found that I could not play it very long because of a bad arm. Can play guitar fine, so I am going to try a short scale bass. I know there is a lot of information here but it is hard to sift through. The only one I found locally was a Mustang. It is OK, but does not feel lake a bass, feels like a guitar.

Any information on other light short scale basses will be welcome. My budget is about $600.00 dollars.
