another forum newbie sez "hey!"

I've been lurking around on this forum for a few weeks, and thought I'd take the plunge and actually register.

I play several instruments (drums, percussion, keys) and am now "officially" branching out to bass to help fill some needs on our church worship team. I've dabbled in guitar and bass here and there over the years, but now I have something to practice regularly -- a serviceable Washburn XB-100 that belongs to my church. As a percussionist and synthesist, I'm well-acquainted with GAS, but now I'm experiencing a new strain of the disease--thinking about what bass to buy, effects, etc...

Looking forward to delving deeply into the arcane mysteries of the low end, with help from the many knowledgeable and experienced folks hereabouts!

Hey! back, and Welcome. This is a great forum with a lot of knowledge and opinions available for your asking.

Bass GAS is just as bad as any other - good luck with that!!
