Another Newb from Seattle

Hello everyone -- glad I found you here! I am a 34-year-old who just started up with the bass (at least on a serious level!) I've played guitar for 15 years, but am now enjoying this whole new world.

I'm taking lessons once a week here in the area, and enjoying it tremendously! I actually get a kick out of feeling like a new music student again, and hope to soon be jamming bass with friends.

I've had the idea to pursue this for a number of years, and have had a bass on hand for about 5 years. I think I realized my calling when I walked into a house party a few months ago and found a room full of acoustic guitars with no direction, foundation, or originality!

I look forward to providing that contributing backbone, as well as talking here with you folks about our little world!

Hey guy - I don't mean to crank your engine out the gate, but I can navigate a community forum just fine without you throwing the book at me. I always love the way that a crusty vet such as yourself assumes that every newb that joins is a total dip, and needs someone llike you to "show them the way."

I do appreciate a few useful links, but as I scrolled down through your post, I got the "Now stay down!" vibe from you. Is that what you like to project to people? Anyway, I know you're a "cool guy" in your own element.
