Hi Everyone!
I have been reading Talk Bass for a few months and finally got the courage to join. I am a very new bassplayer who just started taking lessons a few months ago. I bought a fretless bass on a spur of the moment visit to a music store since the sound of the fretless bass was something that I loved. I was immediately told by many who had been playing for quite a few years that perhaps I should try a fretted bass first. I bought a cheapie fretted bass and discovered it was not that easy to play even though I went to a luthier to set it up. I then bought a bass that was much more of a pleasure to play (and much more expensive). I still try to play the fretless because it is still the sound that I love and I hope to grow the musical ears and muscle memory to be proficient some day.
