Greetings,
I'm a newbie here, as well as being a fairly new to the bass guitar. Here is my history in case anyone cares
I'm 37, and have been a drummer all my life. I've dabbled with guitar, keyboards, and vocals here and there, but I was primarily a drummer.
Last spring, a local band that was a favorite of mine (80s rock tribute band) was looking for a bass player, so I said, "why not? what do I have to lose?". I tried out, on all borrowed equipment(!), and eventually got the gig.
From there I started purchasing my own equipment and practicing ALOT. At the time I figured "how hard could 80s rock bass lines be?". Well, I found out that there were some pretty accomplished bass players from that era.
My current rig is:
(2) Ibanez BTB guitars
Hartke 3500 head
Hartke 115xl cab
Hartke 210xl cab
Samson Airline Wireless
Boss CEB-3 Chorus
Boss TU-2 Tuner
Along with my trusty Roland D5 keyboard for all those great outdated 80s sounds.
I look forward to reading, participating and learning here.
Thanks!
Kevin
