when i first began i loved to solo. I started with the minor pentatonic scale which is the 5th and 8th frets of the lowest string, the 5th and 7th frets on the second lowest string, and the 5th and 7th frets of the second highest and highest strings. It's fun just to mess around around with the notes and make your own patterns. pretty simple too
