Hi from Niagara Falls, NY! New here, but not really new to bass. I'm a guitarist of 20+ years, but always had a "thing" for bass; I even got to gig (good cash too!) for a summer in 2003. Interestingly, I played baritone and trombone in Jr/Sr High, so while I can barely read guitar and piano music, bass notation comes pretty easy.
I'd say my main influences are Ross Valory (Journey, though no real surprise, since Neal Schon is my main guitar influence as well) Muzz Skillings (Living Colour), Cliff Williams (AC/DC) and Micheal Anthony (Van Halen - shut up, dude is TIGHT!).
I'm playing a 86-87 Cort p-Bass that I've had for YEARS, and recently purchased a used GK Brat Pack ($100 - El Cheapo Grande FTW!!!) that I plan to build a better rig around (more on this soon in the proper forum section).
So yeah, hi, and looking forward to learning more and chatting with what I've seen so far, a nice group of people.
Thanks!
