Hello bassists!

(The brass tacks I'll put in bold at the bottom, the following is just my situation)

I've been playing guitar for some time, I'm fairly knowledgable on it. I can play it fairly well.

But regular guitar does not satisfy. I've always been very interested in the bass and all its aspects. I was given a bass for my birthday one year and I sort of got a feel for it. But very recently I decided I want to dedicate myself to the instrument. To give it the musical devotion a real musician would. I even went out and bought a beautiful new instrument. An Ibanez Soundgear SR505. Sadly this beautiful bass is wasted on my lack of talent I'm very inexperienced. As far as I'm concerned I know nothing. If you know nothing than all you can do is learn

I know that if there is somehow i can fix my hopeless situation I can find it here.

Please, I need a crash course on technique. I want to get better. And since I know nothing, anywhere will be a good start.

If anyone could advise me on technique, excercises, and songs for an aspiring beginner bassist I'd be forever in your debt.
