Hello to all. It was nice to find this forum. I have been a guitarist for over 30 years, but in between I gigged for several years as a bassist. I have always loved bass and my first instrumental memories was of a family friend who had a Fender or knockoff bass (I have no idea) but just as Steve Vai was jazzed by Danny Bonaduce's white pigtail cord in the Partridge Family, I was jazzed by the long neck and giant tuning pegs.

I got rid of my bass gear many years ago to get myself a Strat, but I am getting the bug again and am looking for a Fender P'Bass preferably. Though I didn't have the bass chops back then, I at least had the sense to know that I was a guitarist playing bass and tried to play properly. I know that a bass is not a big guitar. Hopefully now I can learn to play bass properly and my biggest inspiration now is James Jamerson.

I hope I can learn from you all how to play properly! Thanks.

Welcome! It is good to see another old timer getting back to the bottom line. I have just played my first three set gig after a 36 year layoff, and man did that feel good, but after three sets I was really tired. I had forgotten what a demanding sport it is. Good luck with achieving whatever goals are ahead...
