hey fellow bassists. just wanted to give a short intro and say thanks for the wealth of information on the website/forum. i just got back into playing after 4 years. i had to start from scratch(including gear) and the classifieds and mij info i searched helped me out alot. i ebayed an 88-89 mij jazz and thanks to another forum member, west*coast*bass, i have an ampeg ba-112 coming to me soon. nothing high end or loud, but a decent setup that's enough for jamming with friends and bedroom noodling which is about as much time i have for these days. i played 4 years of high school jazz band and another 4 years of cover and garage bands with a funk/rock/reggae kinda style. of all the setups i owned over those years, my favorite was my least expensive 80s yamaha bb3000s and a hartke 4000 head into an acme 4-ohm b2. all that is gone now but i've always wanted a jazz so i took a chance and went for an 80s japanese after playing various jazzes at the shops. waiting to hear the tone but it plays well and i set it up w/ osborn flats for now to help build the fingers up slowly. alright this is getting long so enough for now...
