Bass Newb from Australia

Hey. I decided to pick up bass after playing guitar for a year because I thought it would be good since I don't know many people who play it. I also thought that it would help me expand on my music knowledge (completely self taught) and make it easier to join a band.

I am not playing my bass right now (Ibanez GSR200) cause my amp (Ashdown Five Fifteen) broke after a week of playing. Apparenlty it is a fuse problem and I should have it back in a few days. Other than that, I think I got a pretty good deal on my gear considering how expensive everything is in Australia.

I like playing older metal such as 80's Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and other similar bands. Right now, I am learnig Master of Puppets, Caught in a Mosh and Peace Sells.

Yeah, the Fender one looks great, but it is $1700 down here. I might consider it or a Rockbass after I buy a car.

Never seen it before. But is there much of a point in it when I already have a beginner bass?

Gday Mate. Also from Aus (Melb) pretty new to bass, slowly making some steps forward. Yeah, I dig the bands you're learning. Are you a guitar pro or tabs kinda bloke? Good luck with it. Cheers
