and figured I'd go ahead and jump in.
Hi to all. My name is David and I live in Edmond, OK, just north of Oklahoma City, USA. I played guitar in a band in my teenage years too many moons ago to count. My daughter gave me an acoustic guitar for Christmas 4 years ago and I discovered my finger tips were a lot bigger than they used to be. After about 6 months of frustration, I figured if Sir Paul could make a jump to bass, so could I.
I've been playing in a band up at work for about 2 1/2 years now, but only 5 or 6 times per year. I know, not much but it was, and still is, a good learning experience. I've been running sound for a friend's band and playing with them when their bassist couldn't make it. Finally, about 4 months ago, I joined a band as the primary bassist. Currently working on putting the play list together. First little gig is coming up in early February - a benefit, with more to follow.
I stared out with, and still have a good old Ibby GSR-200, but have serious GAS for an IBBY SRX-700. Currently have a Fender Rumble 100 for the amp, but know that will have to be upgraded sooner or later.
Guess that's about it for me, a humble single-instrumented player from Oklahoma, USA.
