Talking Big Thursday Hello from NY.....

Sign in to disble this ad
Just joined today and wanted to say hello. I was referred to this place from a number of people from other forums and lurked here awhile. Looks like a great place.

I hail from the NY Hudson Valley area. I am an old(er) guy that started playing bass at 14 years old in the late 60's and played continuously in a variety of R+B, rock, and blues bands until early 20's....... dropped playing everything until about 10 years ago when I picked up guitar. Have been doing that but I want to get back to my bass roots.

So here I am. I have a bunch of guitar gear, but no bass gear and am currently in the market for a new bass so I can build my chops back up. I look forward to glean all the pearls of wisdom from the team here at Talk Bass.

Cheers
Bob

Thumbs up Thanks Mike...

The GTG at Woodstock sounds great. I've got to check my schedule. I had something else planned that day.

BTW, Is this all bass players with their gear? or are drums, guitars and maybe keys coming for a jam?

Either way is cool.... as you saw from my post I don't have any bass gear as yet.... but I can bring beer!

It is open to all, but I believe it will be mostly bass players and their gear. Luthiers Joe Veillette and Mike Tobias will be there and I will be presenting a clinic (whcih might actually give you some good insight coming back to bass after 10 years).

Hope to see you there

Mike
