Good evening to you all!

My name is Aaron (I don't mind being addressed by it on the internet - my ordinary internet identity is Rancid which is unfortunately taken) and I'm twenty-four and from Britain. I currently reside in Cyprus where I have lived for over a year.

I have been a bass enthusiast for a shade over six years, having received my first guitar (a beautiful dark-blue Aria Pro II) as a birthday gift in 2000. I consider myself at a high standard, with room for improvement, despite having absolutely no stage experience. My current (and first, having been let down so many times over six years) band (a five-piece (two-guitarists, a percussionist, a vocalist and myself)) has been together for roughly three months and we're practicing a modern rock set, hopefully to be ready for a warm-up gig in March. The local area in Cyprus has seen more than it's fair share of average rock groups and duos in recent years, all of whom play the classics like 'Sweet Home Alabama', 'Mustang Sally' etc. No offence to fans, but it makes me feel sick. We're hoping to set the place alight with something far more energetic.

As my name suggests I listen to a lot of punk rock, all modern, and most other energetic rock. I'm a big, big fan of Rancid's Matt Freeman and R.H.C.P.'s Flea (especially the former) and enjoy playing their bass-lines more than any others.

Other hobbies include football which I'm almost as passionate about as playing my guitar. I play for two local teams here in Cyprus, support Plymouth Argyle FC and watch them play as often as possible whenever I return to the UK.

I've little doubt that I'll enjoy my stay on the forum and that I'll make friends quickly (hey, I'm an amiable guy!).

Merry Christmas, one and all!
