Brand New Bass Player

Hey, what's up everyone? I'm new to the world of bass (and strings in general). I've been really interested in learning to play for a while and finally bought a green Squier P Bass I found in a pawn shop for 80 bucks. Probably not the best idea since I had to re solder a few broken wires. Oh well, I got it tuned and working now and sounds good enough for my lack of skill. I've cruised the forums a lot looking for advice for fixing and tuning so I joined in the hope that I can contribute someday.

I attached a picture; she may not be the nicest but I love it so far. Hopefully, I'll start lessons in a week or two.
