Lightbulb A cheap Introduction from Australia mate! - Lyons

Sign in to disble this ad
Im happy about joining this forum.
It is MASSIVE.
Anyways you can call me Lyons.
I come from Down South east Australia
I listen to music like Arch Enemy. Fear Factory Mudvayne but i also listen to Bela Fleck and the flecktones. Marco Panascia etc...
I love bass and have been wanting to play it since Grade 6.
I saved up and finally bought a bass in year 8.
And here i am right now. A REAL year 9 bassist.
I reckon its the coolest thing in the whole entire WORLD.
But all my mates bag me for playing bass because they say you cant here bass in songs and the only songs you can are **** songs. They think Bass is just G G G G G G G. One of my friends is one of most popular in school. He plays drums and ridicules me for playing bass becuase its so gay and he has 9/10 people in the whole school hating bass with him.
I try to comeback but no matter what...They always say **** like. Bass is so easy G G G. 4 strings are really ****. 5 strings are gay. 6 string bass is a wannabe guitar. 7 or more strings is just F***** stupid. NO MATTER WHAT I SAY

I joined Talkbass to actually talk to Wide minded people on the most complex instrument on the planet. other than that people i know just narrow minded tools.

I have 1 dream...That someday bass players will rule the world
And that drummers are more hated than Bin laden.

If you have read all of this you are indecribely cool and may you prosper in your playing.

Hey Lyons, welcome to talkbass. I'm in a school where they think bass is easy too. Just try and play at a couple school dances and stuff to show them what bass is about, (thats what I did). Play some mudvayne and have stage presents. By the way, I support your dream 100%.

And you listen to a drummer so stupid as to say bass is a stupid and or easy instrument?! As any drummer with a brain and all bass players know, it's the bass that makes drums from a guy banging out a beet into a rythem section to drive the music into your brain. If he thinks bass is stupid and is easy, he's to ignorant to be considered a musician. What would MudVane be with out that cool bass. Or Slip Knot. Or Mr Bungle etc. It's true there are lots of bands with very ordinary or far back in the mix bass but the number of good bass players in all types of music is large and hopefully getting larger. Find some really cool heavy bass and let them listen and see if they can stay ignorant and if they can, give up on them and find real musicians. Try and find some Mr Bungle, Faith no More or the like and blow there minds with pumping in your face bass. Keep loving the instrument dude and remember, in school, ignorance is taught by ignorant people but a couple of years after most people leave, they wonder how they were so stupid as to be peer driven fools for so long just trying to seem cool to other popular fools at school. Oops, didn't mean to rhyme there. <grin>
Danny.
