Hi folks. I'm Hans. I've heard about this forum but never took the time to look around 'till tonight. I am an avid bass player and, at 33, have been playing for 20 years.

I've spent the last year focusing on my guitar collection (odd, eh?) but am done goofing-off and just made a few updates to my bass rig in preperation for the next big thing in my life (beside my family, of course)... that is, redidicating my time to playing bass at a seriuos level. I have been listening to a lot of Bela' Fleck lately and have Wooten-licks eating away at my soul and haunting my dreams so it's time to step it up a notch and try my best to make th transition from "good bass player" to monster player. That's the goal anyway.

I play a Ken Smith BSR5EG fretted and StingRay 5 fretless through an Avalon U5 into a '67 portaflex B15 for studio/practice and a pre-fender SWR Super Redhead with a Son of Bertha 15" extension cab for shows - though I am selling that rig because I just bought an SVT-VR head and an SVT-610HLF cab for live use.

I am definately on a tone quest and really look forward to talking with you in the coming months, sharing ideas, and contributing if I should have anything helpful to add to the vast knowledge that already resides here.
