Congatulations - and Hello!

Hi all

I've been looking through this site for several days now. Sooooooooo much great info, you should be proud of making this such a great and friendly resource.

Me, well I play bass and lead worship in my local church on a regular basis, mostly modern contemporary songs.

Having small hands which are now stiff from tears of Karate, playing rugby (that's like American Football with the gloves off ) and a couple more motorcycle crashes than I like, I don't (can't) get too fancy but I like to lay down a steady bass line that keeps things moving.

I'm in the market for a new (better) bass which I'm researching on this site.

Gear, a cheap Aria 5 string bass, an Ashdown ABM500 amp into an Ashdown ABM4x10 and Eden D118XL. Assited by Aphex bass exciter and Boss reverb talent enhancer pedals

Musical tastes - anything except rap and over vocally-embellished R&B. Currently playing a lot of Jamiroquai, Foo Fighters, James Brown and Joe Bonamassa on my iPod.

Last gigs I went to - Joe Satriani and Dave LaRue (he's good! - looks like an American Noddy Holder!)on the Super Colossal tour, Limehouse Lizzy (brilliant Thin Lizzy tribute) and The Hamsters (another great hard-working band)

Next gig lined up to see - Nine Below Zero (fabulous R&B (no, not Beyonce style ) band.

Job - for you Americans I'm a 30 year Law Enforcement veteran, for you British I'm an old copper on the beat

Things I don't like about this site - seeing how cheap you get great guitars for in the States!!! Whatever you pay in dollars, just double it to get the UK price!

Great to be here - enjoying ever minute - Thanks

Hamster
