Talking D'oh! Hi from Florida

Oops, I somehow missed that this forum was here and already posted in Basses, a combined new bass post and intro, since I just picked up an Epi T-bird last Friday for $100. So I've already managed to break protocol, d'oh! Sorry about that, chief.

At any rate, that's my most recent deal. I think I done pretty good. Here's my "new" T-bird and my other basses, fwiw, all inexpensive cheapies, but I've got most of the bases (pardon the pun) covered:

As far as amps go, nothing fancy or expensive there either. I have a '60's Sunn 200S head that I use for both bass and guitar (oh yeah, I'm a guitardist too), and a Crate BX200 head as well. I have an old SVT 8x10 fridge cab, and a little DIY 2x10 (made from a Peavey silverstrip PA cab with 2 Carvin bass speakers put in). Last, I have an old Woodson 250 head and matching 1x15 cab. I mix and match stuff as gig requirements, laziness, and impedance allow.

I'm in a few rock bands that do original material of various genres. I'm the lead singer/guitarist in one, and in the other two I've gone back and forth between guitar and bass as needed, and do backing vocals in those. And I play in church too. Oh, and I'll turn 51 in a week or so.

But enough about me.

I'll try to play nice.

Welcome aboard. I'm another Florida bassist with a bit of time on my hands(I teach at Crooms Acadamy and we are now closed due to the one verified case of Swine flu in Florida being a student there) I am also a Peavey fan and appreciate your Fury(at least it looks like a Fury, though it could be a T-20). Nice bass.

Thanks yeah, it's a Fury. Picked it up for $125 in a pawn a few months ago. Gainesville is great for finding cheap gear.

I have 3 peavey Foundations, a Unity, and a Patriot. I got them all for under $150 at pawn shops, ebay, or craigslist. Old peaveys are just great buys.

Yeah, it's crazy you can get USA basses for dirt cheap just because they're Peavey. I don't get it.

I have a black/maple T-60 guitar as well, to match my Fury.
