Electronics Question

Hi!

New guy here! My name Is Salvador, from Puerto Rico.

I have a modified Peavey T- 20 bass and I would like to know if there's any way to reduce, if not eliminate the hum produced when I turn the volume all the way up. Will it be reduced if I change the pots to 500K (the original ones are 250K)? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
