I've been playing for about 2 1/2 years, so I don't pretend to be an expert on anything. I have next to no technical knowledge and taught myself how to play. I'm slowly familiarizing myself with what different pieces of equipment do, music theory, and the like.
I'm currently playing an Ibanez SRX-300, through some Boss pedals (DS-1 Distortion -> CH-1 Super Chorus -> GEB-7 Bass Equalizer -> DD-3 Digital Delay), and out a Peavey Rage 158. The amp is a piece that I bought used after it had been hit by a car (twice!). It's my first amp, and though I can't crank the volume up too high, it has a good sound. Not suitable for gigging, though.
My main influence has been Peter Steele of Type O Negative. If you couldn't tell from my set-up, he's who inspired me to pick up the bass to begin with. I'm also a huge CKY fan, so I enjoy playing both styles. |
