Cool Female Upright Bass Playa in the house :)

Sign in to disble this ad
Heya & Greetings!

Im "SexyBassPlaya", I live near Toronto, Ontario (Canada) & I play (among other instruments) BASS!!

Im an upright bassist (yup, that BIG one! aka "acoustic", "stand up", "double bass"... "the doghouse"... lol)

Anyhoo, thought Id intro myself, see maybe if there are any women bass playas such as myself (are there?), as well as upright bassists

I love most kinds of music (what dont I like would be a better phrasing), but my love is JAZZ I do play & listen to other genres, but when it comes to playing, especially jamming live, Jazz (& Blues) is where its at for this gal!

Feel free to contact me--its always great to learn new stuff from other people & hey, what better to yak about than da bass?

Laterz!

Appearently, from what I've heard, female bassists get scared off from all the "horny teenager bass players" or something like that.

But anyway, welcome to TalkBass!

Hi, I have just joined and I was trying to figure out how to post on the welcome forum thing and I saw your message. This site is fancier than I thought it would be! Yes, there are other female bass players out there, such as yours truly, which just goes to prove you don't have to be a knuckle-dragging neanderthal to play bass!

You don't have to be a knuckle dragging neanderthal, but it does seem to help.

Just kidding. Welcome!

What are some of your favorite jazz tunes?

Welcome

Hi there, and Hi to you, Precious....saw your other post here. Yes, woman bass doubler here, but playing bass is so natural to me, I tend to not really think of this as a gender thing, but, yes, there are specific things we could talk about. I've been here awhile and we seem to be few and far between.

Welcome. I just saw a female upright bassist on wednesday night playin' some jazz. I find it's pretty rare. Anyways, look around the forums, there's a special section for double bass.
