Fender Jazz vs Ric 4003

I played a P-bass many years ago, sold it, dropped out, blah blah blah, now jamming on a Martin acoustic BC-15E, and considering upping to an electric. Light/lounge jazz is my gig. Contenders are the MIA Fender Jazz and a Ric 4003. Any comments? I note the Ric has 20 frets vs the standard 23 - is that an issue to anyone?

I've got one of both.

I didn't get the Ric to play Jazz, though, that I can say.

As a complete Fender jazz bass fan I say go with the MIA...you just can't beat that sound. I have a 75 RI MIA and a 04 MIA Jazz. The only Ric's I ever enjoyed had the stock pu's replaced w/ the SD ones. JMO.
