Hello to everyone. This is my first posting and introduction. I am 55 and have been playing electric bass since I was about 15. My primary bass is a 1973 Fender Jazz bass that I bought new and have kept in great condition. I also have a Fender acoustic (el cheapo made in Korea). I also play a some acoustic guitar and have a 1971 Gibson Dove that I bought new and have also kept in great condition. I am considering trying out the upright bass but have not made any kind of commitment yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have considered renting for three months which would only require a $150 investment. I have also looked at the cheap electric upright basses on ebay that would require a $650 investment. As I said, any advice is more than welcome.
