Hey all guess I should do an intro here.....

I have been learning Bass, just 3 months so far but having lots of fun, right now I have just been doing the basics like scales, chords and arpeggios, and in general just getting my fingers to walk up and down the neck.

I picked up a Johnson 4 string that I got dirt cheep cause the pickups were shot, I replaced them with Quarterpounders, did a little neck adjusting and for the price (well under MSRP total) it sounds pretty good for a starter bass, but a little heavy and fat feeling in the neck for my taste. I just posted a post in the misc forum looking for advice on a different model.

As a kid I played the drums but stopped when I hit 20, too much complaints about noise and lack of cash ect, but I can still play fairly well, not great but well ) Now in my mid 40's and ready to try something new.

Welcome to TB! I am new also and am finding this is a really informative place with many knowledgeable people willing to help with any imaginable question. You'll be amazed at the topics poping up here.

Your druming back groud should be a big plus when learning bass. Search the forums here, there is a TON of good info. Good luck!

Welcome to TalkBass. We have alot in common. I am turning 40 this year. I too just started playing bass a few months ago and been playing drums for 25 yrs.

Anyway, welcome to the family. Once in you can never leave !!

Good luck on your playing..
