Greetings,Scholars:

my first post on Talkbass. What can I say? I'm an aging hippie(54)
who began re-learning bass about four years ago after a hiatus of 25 years. I jam with blues groups,C&W/Bluegrass groups, back R&B singers and wish I could find some jazz players to jam with. I live in deep south Texas, but originally I'm from Brooklyn,NY

Favorite axe is a Fender Fretless Jazz Bass(med.ga.Fender flats) plugged into a Fender Bassman 250/210(believe or not,I'd sooner have a Peavey). My Yamaha RBX 375 doesn't get much use. A Rogue VB-100 (a Hofner Beatle bass knock-off)with Fender Nylons cost me $180 an astonishes every fellow bass player who tries it out. An Ashbory and a Josef Lazar Model 12 1/2 size Double Bass.

Gear is good, but music is better. When I jam, the R&B/Motown groove influence will eventually surface-when I see the audience move body parts to the rhythm,I think, let the guitar guys do the glory thing;I've got the room moving, and the drummer smiling.

Someone's GOT to drive the Bus!
