Talking Greeting from Nashville

Hello All!
As a recent transplant to Nashville, ( I just moved here from Phoenix, AZ a few months ago) I have joined the ranks of wanna be pro bass players. A town like this is great for the ego, because there are so many great players, that you realize that a lot more than mere chops are needed to aquire the musical career that many of us want.
I have joined a local band, called Nothing Like the Sun, and we are starting to make some waves around town. This is by far the most talented band I have ever been in. Everyone in this band does their job, and is a cool guy to be with. A real rarity, as I am sure many of you can testify to. More about me...
I am a bit of a gear head... money and wife allowing I would probably own 200 basses. As it stands, I have 3.
A lakland 55-94, my main axe
A fretless musicman sterling with a fingerboard that I epoxied myself (go Jaco!) sounds amazing though...
A 92 P Bass plus with TI Jazz Flats and Villex passive pickups
A 120 year old Czech upright bass that is my baby, but I don't get to play it much any more, and may need to sell it (see notes about expecting twins below!)
A EA I-amp 800,
2 Aguilar GS112 cabs (the best bass cab ever!)
The fabulous EH Black finger compressor (I recommend this to all bass players, give a wonderful tube warmth to any rig and the most natural compression I have ever heard)
Most importantly, a Furman ARII-15 voltage regulator (my prior I-amp 500 melted on a gig with bad power-never again)
The fabulous Peterson Strobostomp tuner

Also, a special note, I recently inherited 2 Studer A807 reel-to-reel tape recorders and reproducers. These machines are full of vintage cool-If only I know how to use them!

On my gas list is a Sadowsky five-string, an NS Design EUB, and another Aguilar GS 112

On a personal note, I am 29, have a 14 month old son and twins due in March. My day job is at a local mortgage company called Churchill Mortgage. I am a busy boy! I love classical, jazz, alternative, and rock, really can't stand pop country, but really enjoy bluegrass, americana, and roots music.
Feel free to comment, especially if any of you bass pickers are in the Nashville area.

You'll be hearing more from me!

Welcome to Nashville and TB. I live in Franklin. If you have any questions about the area, just let me know.

Thanks for saying hello!

Hello Guy!
I actually live in Franklin also. I have been here about 6 months and am starting to get to know the area. I have found Corner Music and Qdoba burritos, but I would welcome any suggestions for a good music store, or mexican food place. Also, who do you take your basses to for setup and repair? I would love to know!

I do my setups myself, but the guys at Corner handle my repairs. I also buy most of my gear there. Ask for JD next time you are there. He is the shop manager and the resident bass guy. I understand they have a few Sadowskys coming in soon, but they never last long.

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention Brian's bass shop in Mufreesboro: www.thelowend.net . Brian has the best exotic bass selection in the area.

For Mexican food, I like Garcia's on Murfreesboro Rd (Williamson Square Shopping Center).
