Hi, my name is Chuck Holloway. I live in Eugene, OR. I've been here since the 90's. I just purchased my first acoustic bass.
I am an accomplished bluegrass musician and 5 string banjo is my primary instrument. If anyone is interested, I'd be glad to guide you to YouTube to see me in action with my group.
I teach banjo, mandolin, and guitar, and I hope to soon begin teaching bluegrass bass (I-V-I-V-I-V-I-V...). I teach at the John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts, Lane Community College, and from my home studio. I've been teaching for the last 15 years or so, but seriously (as an occupation) for the last 8 years (I basically supplement my wife's income).
I have played bass for a number of years, but I've never owned one. This deal came along on a used bass, and I thought I'd jump on it! I'm here to learn what I can learn from experienced players, and craftsmen. The neck on my "new" bass WAS in need of a reset; I just removed the neck. I've never reset a neck before, but I'll tackle anything once or twice.
Thanks for being here,
Chuck Holloway
