Hi there,
I'm not very much into this "here I am" thing, but I think you should know, that I'm not a native speaker.
Most of you are, I suppose.
So...if my posts frequently are nonsense...never mind...I did my best...

| | | Wow...

I'm from Dortmund. That's Western-Germany (Ruhrgebiet).
And yes...this site is very cool. Not only because it's about my favourite instrument, but it also will help to not let go my english down the drain...
Thanks again for the warm welcome...
Edit:
I'd appreciate some corrections, if my postings are hard to understand...
I surely don't get everthing right, what people are writing here, and because of that some of my postings may sound strange...

Stimmt schon:hier wird nur Bass gesprochen.
Talkbass is the single best bass resource/forum out there,IMHO. You`ll love this place.

I speak german too! But I just learned the language in school. Do you play upright or electric? Hahaha. I haven't spoken german in one or two months. I'm sorry.
(I felt left out and felt like I had to contribute to the german speaking TalkBass festivities)
Viel Glueck!
(Kein umlauts.

Ungewöhnlich in den US of A, nicht wahr?
Hi Steph,
I'm playing "electric", but I sure want to buy a doublebass, if there's a chance for a good deal...I can wait.
You had german in school? Not very common in the US, is it?
By the way...you can kind of simulate the "umlauts" by adding an "e".
For example "üben" (to practice) could be written as "ueben".
Does surely look silly, but it's often the way, people with american keyboards are typing... Quote:

Someone said:
"German should be put to the dead languages...because only the dead have the time to learn it."
Edit:
It was mark Twain....and here's the quote:
"...it ought to be gently and reverently set aside among the dead languages, for only the dead have time to learn it."
