Greetings from Massillon Ohio

Here's my story:

As a youngster growin' up in the burbs of Cleveland I aquired a taste early in life for laying down grooves. I picked up bass at age 13 when my sister's boyfriend, bassist Clint Harris, saw me playing guitar with my unusually big mits and suggested I check out the bass instead...I fell in love with the instrument.

By 15 I was hooked up with a local rock group who'd sneak me into bars to play gigs with them, from there I was on my way to super-stardom as a rock bass god. After jumping from band to band, and delving into a wider variety of styles and technique I landed into some cool recording projects and even some theater pit stuff, I was on a roll. Those were the days...although quite short of super-stardom.

Then adulthood caught up with me and I wound up putting my musical aspirations on hold for a while, you know the story, I sold most of my gear and became a working stiff.

Which brings me to the present, I am 38 years old, I just made a major life change to turn another passion of mine (cycling) into a career. I haven't really played much in the last 7-8 years but one of my new buddies in the bike biz is an avid player and his enthusiasm has inspired me to dust off my chops and play a little.

So here I am, I don't know where I am going but I just feel there's still some music inside waiting to get out. I am gonna hang out here a bit, I hope to catch up with whats going on in the world of bass guitar and maybe offer up some input as well.

Cheers,

Eric "I've got my groove back" Edwards

There's some smokin' bassists from Ohio, check out Doug Johns.

Have TBers ever had any regional get-togethers?

He and I grew up in the same town, I basically cut my bass playin' teeth under his tutelage.

I'd like to buy EIGHT Giant TCR 0's all in xxxsmall if you got em all set up and shiney! Wait! Make that six Electra....!!!!! Sup Dude!Just sitting here at home with bass in lap at my computer (jus' like I told jah), and I figured out this is YOU! I mean, Do you know who I am? I am the Fameous MR(CONNECTED)! Eric, try out a Schecter, I am not kidding. Mucho Basso, For little Dinero! As far as ol' Petcher goes, what can I say. The MAN ROCKS. I would Love to see him react to Him playing when he didn't know it was him on bass; Petch would say "Wow this guy is pretty good! Have to google his name, How do you spell that?" Eric, I heard it through the grapevine that you are pretty good too! (This is from people like Petch, Scott, and Adam(Scott doesen't really count, but)). I can't wait until the bass party! Hell, I might organize one at my house! GLAD TO HAVE YOU ONBOARD w/ Century. Perhaps I could convince you or THE MIGHTY,MIGHTY PETCHER to Teach me the BASSics, I am willing to travel for Knowlage.

Thanx for the compliments. Are you sure you're talkin' about me? Double E, check out the Warwick Corvette 5 in the For Sale section here... this bass is right up your alley. Yep, Ohio rules! GearGod, any lessons should be given by Double E or Rojo412, not me.. too many bad habits!
