Guitar player turned bass?

Hey guys, I'm new here, just wanted to say hi from Iowa City, IA. I have been a guitar player for quite awhile, mostly acoustic, but not the crappy mainstream acoustic pop stuff. More like Michael Hedges, Andy McKee, Justin King, Keller Williams, etc.

Anyway, I have always wanted to play bass. I actually flipped a coin back in 8th grade to decide whether I should buy a guitar or bass, since I could only afford one or the other. Now I'd like to make up for lost time and learn the ropes, and hopefully play bass in a rock/blues/funk band someday.

Nice!!! Its great to see someone go the opposite direction for a change. My original reason for picking one up was the sound. There's no other instrument like it.
