Hello,
Well I'm one of those guitar players (mostly acoustic) who wants to learn the bass. Yeah, I know one of "those guys." But, honestly I love the bass-especially the mid-to late old Beatles tunes. That's where I first heard the bass as a leading instrument. Anyways, I'm looking for a good starter bass and I'm sure that's always asked on this forum, but ya gotta start somewhere! I've seen some short scaled ones and maybe that's the place to start, but 4 string for sure and around $500-600. Thanks all.

Welcome Bro', newcomer here myself. Back in the day I started as a bassman, because that job was open. Later I learned guitar, because I wanted to. But after looking for a bass player for my own band, I decided it was too important a job to just give away, so I used a signal divider on my guitar to supply bass undertones, (a 2 piece band).
I've returned to bass as my primary instrument.
Every time I consider studying guitar again, I move back to bass. I dig the deep tone, and I have so very much to learn.
