Hey everyone!
My name is Yannick and I'm from Belgium. I'm also 18 years old and am a boy. My hobbies outside of playing music are videogames and partying.
I've been playing bass for about three years now. Mainly just covers of songs.
My technique is getting pretty good (well not really but I can play most songs if I practice enough). The problem is I know nothing about the theory behind all this beautiful music.
That's why I'm here!
Well, that and just to discuss music and to discover new artists!
I've also been playing the guitar for about a year now. It plays like a breeze, cause I started out on a 30 years old acoustic bass and the strings are so much thinner. I had no problems with fretbuzz ever on guitar cause of my bass.
I wanted to play guitar before I started playing bass but my dad had his acoustic bass and kinda forced me to pick up bass.
After the first few months of playing I was glad he did! I love the bass! And I would've had alot of trouble getting in a band if I was a guitarist (cause you know, every kid that wants to learn an instrument picks the guitar).
Now that I feel like I got the basics down I want to ACTUALLY learn how to play the bassguitar. And not just learn tabs (my dad warned me about those things slowing you down in the end!) the rest of my musical life.
My favourite bassplayers'd probably be Jack Bruce, John Entwistle and Les Claypool (Slap & Pop is a technique I'd also like to learn over the next few months/years). There's probably more, but those are the ones I can remember of the top of my head.
I think that's about it... Thanks for reading and keep on jamming guys! |
